Mike grew up in Deltona, Florida and went on to graduate from the University of Central Florida. As a child and during high school, Mike played every sport he could and still enjoys playing basketball, golf, and pickleball.

Mike has been in the financial industry for over 30 years and in 1997 he started Michael S. Carrier & Associates, Inc., a wealth management company. As a Registered Investment Advisor he currently works with families with a combined net worth of approximately $175 million and he has direct investment discretion on $80 million.

Mike is married to Eileen Carrier, and the couple have two children. Jordan is a junior at UNC Chapel Hill. She is a manager for the UNC Men’s Basketball Team and plays on the UNC Women’s Club Basketball Team. Their son Reid will be attending and playing basketball at Sewanee, The University of the South in the fall and helped lead Greensboro Day School to a state championship in 2023.
